We found these exterior shutters at a local salvage yard. This particular design is not one I would recommend. The crescent moon cutout has long been the symbol for an outhouse. So, this would not be a particularly flattering exterior shutter design. We think it would be best to find an alternate exterior shutter cutout for your house.

The exterior shutter style shown is a variation of a board and batten shutters. The horizontal battens are on the back of the shutter. The wood used for these exterior shutters appears to have been salvaged from a preexisting structure and repurposed for house window shutters. We love the idea, just not sure about the design selection. But, maybe you are looking for exterior shutters for your outhouse.
